I know, I know — we’re too old to be answering this question. Stay with me for just a minute.
What was the first thing that popped into your head when reading the title of this post?
Whatever it was, start doing that.
It’s really that simple. Sometimes we overthink things and try to be “logical”, but that just kills our creativity and our drive.
I absolutely love to travel and take pictures. Here’s the catch, I don’t have extra cash laying around to be able to travel all over the world like I would like to. But, I do have a car and free time on the weekends to travel to local places I’ve never been around where I live. I’m still traveling AND I get to take pictures.
I don’t get paid, I just do it because I love it and I really enjoy it. It’s what I want to do. I realized when I got home the other night that, even though I don’t officially hold the title, I’M A TRAVELING PHOTOGRAPHER! 🙂
I’ve been scarce on wordpress lately. I’ll be getting back to a regular routine soon!

Scary! I said, I don’t know. And I’m 44. I’m probably just not in the right frame of mind right now… that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 🙂

So true what you describe. It is important to live our dreams fully, as far as it goes. Trying to find opportunities and not obstacles.
Beautiful photo with nice colors ….i’s shoes hanging on the ropes in the air 🙂

Love this! I don’t get paid very often for the things I write, but it does happen – and no matter what I am a writer, doing something that I really love! 🙂

Exactly! As long as we enjoy what we are doing, that’s what counts! It doesn’t hurt to be paid for it, but it’s not a necessity.

Definitely one thing that too frequently gets lost with age is dreaming and believing. When we’re kids we think every little thing will be possible and adults are much more skeptical and logical. Kids don’t usually act on those dreams though, at least I used to project to the future my dreams and the action that would take me there. Now I feel like when an idea pops into my head I try to find ways to make it a reality 🙂

Yes! We grow up too fast and lose our sense of imagination! And you’re right, we tend to approach things with a logical mindset, but I feel like logical is also vanilla to a certain extent. I’m glad you are acting on your ideas! I need to be more like that!

I like it. So much of my life, I’ve been a “traveling photographer” right from home. And you know — it’s pretty satisfying.
